Gedeb Lalesa is a natural Ethiopian coffee from Lalesa in the Gedeb coffee-growing area. The drying station belongs to Ephtah Specialty Coffee, the women-founded and led exporter headed by Wubit Bekele, whose work combines producer relationships, community support and opportunities for women in coffee.
Ripe cherries are carefully sorted and spread across covered drying beds. The greenhouse-like roofs protect them from direct sun, slowing drying to around 20 to 25 days, while regular turning and monitoring help preserve a clean expression of the fruit. Peach, lavender and cherry cola shape an intensely aromatic profile. This espresso version combines the floral lift of Ethiopian landrace varieties with the sweetness and fruit character of natural processing.
